Head Chef - Botswana Butchery

HEAD CHEF – BOTSWANA BUTCHERY

Good Group Hospitality owns and operates significant restaurant businesses in Auckland, Christchurch and Queenstown with more planned on the horizon. We are searching for a high quality experienced individual who can operate at a Head Chef level and control the kitchen of one of the South Islands busiest a la carte restaurants. This role is Queenstown based, and provides a great opportunity to excel and showcase your skills and passion as an overall leader, whilst reporting to the Queenstown Executive Chef.

 

THE ROLE

You will be heavily involved in a hands on operation in a very busy and fast paced kitchen.

Helping to create menus with a big emphasis on fresh seasonal produce sourced from the local region.

You will be in charge of up to 20 chefs/kitchen staff and you will be supported by a structure that includes an Executive Chef. Developing and training a strong kitchen team that can deliver quality food consistently while under pressure is a key focus of the role.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have previous experience in a similar role and be able to demonstrate strong career progression over a requisite number of years.
  • Needs to be comfortable managing a busy kitchen with a high level of consistency and creativity.
  • The successful applicant will have outstanding organizational and communication skills.
  • Implementing and maintaining structures and procedures is paramount.
  • You will need to have very strong and proven experience in managing staff.
  • Proven disciplines in managing food / wage costs and rosters is a prerequisite.
  • Must be a New Zealand resident or citizen and or clearly have the necessary approved work status for NZ.
